Giving Back to Our Community
On Borden Avenue in Asbury Park, New Jersey, a new house was constructed in 2011 as the centerpiece of our local Habitat for Humanity chapter’s “A Brush With Kindness” campaign. Volunteers gathered on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays with their tools to help the new homeowners assemble their house, piece by piece.
Once a popular and thriving town on the New Jersey shore, Asbury Park is making a comeback with a push from residents and businesses. New restaurants, shops and a revamped Boardwalk are all part of the effort.
The team from Majestic Exteriors installed the entire roof system, donated by GAF. This included installing the new plywood sheeting, fascia boards, and a new Architectural Dimensional roof.
Majestic Exteriors — one of only a few roofing contractors in the country to partner with GAF — is proud to join with other companies and organizations in our area to raise awareness for decent, affordable housing.
To continue to provide affordable housing in Monmouth County, we believe in fostering strong community relationships. Building simple, decent, affordable housing for families in need requires many hands. Through this effort, we’ve proved that small local businesses like ours care — and can make a difference. We welcome your participation as a volunteer or a donor for our next project on Springwood Avenue in Asbury Park!

About Coastal Habitat for Humanity: Founded in Asbury Park in 1994 by a group of 13 people including clergy, our local chapter is one of 1,900 Habitat for Humanity affiliates worldwide, and it represents eight Monmouth county towns. Families who live in Habitat for Humanity housing have the ability to make a down payment, pay a no-interest mortgage, and invest 250 hours of their own labor into their Habitat house and houses of others.
